Job summary

Milestone Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Data Governance Engineer to own hands-on administration of the platform's governance and security tooling, including Snowflake Horizon, Immuta, Anomato for data quality, Alation and our internal data descriptions tool.

This is a hands-on, technical role within an agile data services team. You will be first-line support for alerts and configuration issues, translating policy into working configurations and learning new tools as needed in collaboration

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data engineering or platform engineering.
• Strong SQL and Python proficiency.
• Hands-on Snowflake security and governance experience.
• Experience owning day-to-day production operations.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar tools from documentation and vendor support.
• Knowledge of data governance concepts: catalogs, critical data elements, quality rules & metrics.

Responsibilities

• Administer and configure Snowflake Horizon and native Snowflake security features.
• Implement and maintain access governance policies in Immuta.
• Configure, monitor and tune data quality checks and alerts.
• Maintain and enrich the data catalog for discoverability.
• Adopt and refine internal data description tooling at scale.
• Collaborate with platform engineering to test and roll out ingest-time tagging tool.
