Job summary

AHEAD is seeking a Data Governance Lead to build and run the governance capability of the Data Platform Team—hands-on. You will implement cataloging, lineage, quality checks, and platform-level access controls, embedding governance into every data product before publishing.

Reporting to the Director, Data Platform, you will lead governance engineering and scale a small governance function as the platform matures, aligning with privacy and security standards.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on governance delivery across data platform environments.
• Experience implementing governance tooling alongside engineering teams.
• Ability to translate governance requirements into engineering patterns.

Responsibilities

• Platform governance execution — define and build the enterprise data catalog, metadata standards, and documentation for published products.
• Implement automated lineage capture across ingestion pipelines, transformations, and data product publication.
• Write and maintain data quality rules within pipelines across Bronze/Silver/Gold layers; manage remediation workflows.
• Configure Snowflake governance controls: RBAC, row/column security, classification tags, masking policies, and access policy enforcement.
• Build the access request and approval workflow for domain connections; enable self-service access without escalation.
• Define schema standards and manage schema registries; enforce retention and access policies on event streams.
• Create governance dashboards and metrics for stewardship, quality, lineage, and policy adoption.
