Job summary

BeyondTrust is seeking a Software Development Engineer in the United States to contribute to core platform services such as AuthN/AuthZ, onboarding, RBAC, reporting, auditing, notifications, and platform APIs.

You will build scalable microservices, collaborate on system design, and improve reliability with logging, monitoring, and alerting using Datadog, while automating cloud infrastructure with Terraform/Terragrunt and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Experience building scalable microservices
• Ability to design maintainable, testable software
• Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting (Datadog)
• Proficient in cloud automation with Terraform/Terragrunt
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code

Responsibilities

• Develop and Maintain Core Services – Implement and enhance high‑quality, scalable microservices that support platform‑wide capabilities, ensuring modularity and extensibility.
• Collaborate on System Design & Implementation – Work with senior engineers and product managers to translate requirements into well‑structured, maintainable, and testable software solutions.
• Enhance System Reliability & Observability – Contribute to logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions using Datadog to ensure visibility and proactive issue resolution.
• Infrastructure as Code & Cloud Automation – Assist in automating cloud infrastructure management using Terraform, Terragrunt, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve Engineering Efficiency – Participate in code reviews, advocate for engineering best practices, and contribute to documentation to ensure team‑wide knowledge sharing.
• Support Operational Excellence – Help troubleshoot and resolve production issues, participate in incident response, and propose solutions for long‑term stability and scalability.
• Cross‑Team Collaboration – Work with product managers, designers, and engineers from other teams to deliver features and platform enhancements that meet business and customer needs.
