Job summary

BeyondTrust is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to help lead the evolution of our Pathfinder products within the cloud offering. You will design and build a new platform-native module and scalable services that power our SaaS.

You will own the NHI Governance domain, guiding server-side architecture across cloud and on‑prem environments. As a technical leader, you will mentor engineers, define interfaces, drive cross-team initiatives, and ensure security, reliability, and

Qualifications

• Expertise in architecting microservices and cloud-native solutions.
• Strong programming skills in modern languages and API design.
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar AI coding tools.
• Experience designing systems and interfaces used across teams.
• Strong AWS experience: design/host/operate production apps at scale.
• Knowledge of Terraform or CloudFormation for IaC.
• Proven track record leading cross-team technical initiatives.
• Comfort with observability, testing strategies, and security.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable platform services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Own architecture for complex, cross-cutting systems and define interfaces.
• Provide technical oversight and lead designs for large projects spanning teams.
• Review requirements, identify gaps, and simplify where possible.
• Mentor engineers and promote security, reliability, and cloud-native practices.
• Drive platform-wide initiatives aligning tech strategy with business goals.
• Improve quality, observability, and performance of services.
• Help resolve ambiguity to properly define and sequence work.
