Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform in Colorado Springs to design, build, and own the backend APIs for payments, auth, and the public TTS service. You will improve reliability, scalability, and cost while collaborating with product, mobile, and web teams to keep our architecture ahead of the product trajectory.

The role emphasizes containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and extensive cloud experience (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

Qualifications

Proven backend experience in TS/Node (required).
Direct experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable).
Ability to describe AI agent–driven automation and workflows.
Capable of verifying results via logs, database state, and real requests.
Good judgment on what not to build and why you dropped it.
Prefers being corrected and learning from feedback.
Experience with containerized deployments (Docker) and Kubernetes is a plus.
Strong collaboration with product, mobile, and web teams.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API.
Improve existing services for speed, cost, and reliability.
Ensure correctness of changes before shipping and maintain post-release checks.
Automate repetitive parts of the role to enable broader impact.
Turn one-off work into repeatable processes for the team.
Design B2B and enterprise integrations built on our platform.
Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep backend architecture aligned with product direction.
