Job summary

Grafana Labs is a remote-first company behind the open observability cloud. The Backend Engineer - Platform - Stacks role focuses on AppCore stacks, reconciliation, and scalable platform automation that underpins Grafana Cloud.

You’ll join a globally distributed team building reliable stack state management and incident recovery. You will own production behavior, improve runbooks and dashboards, and collaborate across squads to deliver safe, incremental changes.

Qualifications

At least 1 year of fully remote work experience.
Some experience with SaaS platform and familiarity with distributed systems concepts.
Professional experience with Golang and backend service development.
Care about developer and user experience and product quality.
Experience delivering projects from brainstorming to shipping.
Write clean, well-tested software that others can understand and maintain.
Able to break down tasks and execute iteratively to deliver working solutions.
Willing to collaborate across teams and align with needs of other squads.
Familiarity with Kubernetes in AWS, GCP, or Azure; exposure to IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

Write efficient, readable, and maintainable code for production systems.
Design, build, and operate new microservices or systems.
Collaborate with teammates and other departments to reach consensus on solutions.
Coordinate with product and UX when needed.
Respond to customer requests and feedback.
Participate in follow-the-sun OnCall rotation when ready.
Contribute to roadmap decisions, technical design, and long-term simplification of stack operations.
