Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Backend Engineer for the AppCore Stacks squad within Platform. You will help build and operate the stack management systems that power Grafana Cloud, including provisioning, migrations, and region rollout workflows.

The role emphasizes reliability, scalability, and collaboration across product, platform, and business operations. We value engineers who thrive on stateful systems, reconciliation loops, and incident-response improvements.

Qualifications

Experience with distributed systems concepts (scalability, multi-tenancy, HA).
Ability to work in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
Proven ability to break down complex problems and ship reliable software.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate reconciliation systems for stack state across Grafana Cloud.
Collaborate across teams to keep stack lifecycle workflows reliable and observable.
Improve deployment and rollout efficiency, including region and plugin rollouts.
Own incident response improvements and post-incident reviews for stack operations.
Partner with product, Hosted Grafana, and infrastructure squads on stack lifecycle work.
Contribute to roadmap planning and technical design for AppCore domains.
Lead major projects and define technical direction for the domain.
