Job summary

Verily Health Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own architecture and scale several core systems. You will drive technical strategy, lead end-to-end delivery, and mentor engineers while collaborating across product and engineering teams to shape the platform’s direction.

You will guide the central Verily Me front door experience, integrating healthcare, research, and consumer offerings. A strong background in cloud, Kubernetes, and system design is essential for success.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience developing reliable, scalable, and secure software in production using Go, Python, C++ or similar languages.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) and modern DevOps tools (GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Backstage).
• Strong data structures, algorithms, and system design knowledge; solid debugging and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, delivery, and testing of large-scale, compliant software systems.
• Translate undefined problems into structured software plans, timelines, and technical execution.
• Drive tooling, documentation, and workflow improvements to boost productivity and reduce root-cause defects.
• Mentor engineers and guide architectural decisions across cross-functional teams.
