Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. is seeking a software engineer to design and implement API endpoints (ASP.NET Core) for desktop and web clients, own features end-to-end, and support a migration to cloud services.

You will build CI/CD pipelines, enhance observability, and mentor juniors while collaborating across teams. The role involves working on Azure-based services, containerized deployments with Docker/Kubernetes, and IaC tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3–6 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong C#/.NET and API experience (ASP.NET Core).
• Experience with client-server architectures and integrating desktop clients with web services.
• Practical experience with at least one cloud platform (GCP or Azure) and willingness to lead Azure migration tasks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, unit/integration testing, and Git workflows.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and cross-team communication skills.
• Direct experience migrating legacy/desktop applications toward web-based or cloud-hosted services.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services such as App Service, Functions, Service Bus, Storage, Key Vault, and Application Insights.
• Docker and basic Kubernetes (AKS) or container orchestration exposure.
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or other IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement API endpoints and service components (ASP.NET Core) to support desktop and web clients.
• Own medium-sized features from design through deployment and monitoring.
• Contribute to the migration effort: implement service adapters, data migration scripts, and validation tooling.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and containerized deployments.
• Improve observability with structured logging, health checks, and Application Insights or equivalent.
• Document systems, create runbooks, and mentor junior engineers on best practices.
