Job summary

CSL in Dallas seeks a qualified healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and administer approved immunizations. You will conduct confidential donor interviews and respond to medical questions with the Center Medical Director, while ensuring proper documentation and compliance with SOPs.

The role requires maintaining donor health assessments, notifying donors of reactive results, and providing routine emergency care as needed in a regulated plasma

Qualifications

• Active state licensure required for paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, naturopathic training or medical school.
• Foreign medical degree accepted only with active physician licensure or EMT certification in the state.
• At least 1 year in a healthcare setting or clinical experience from training program.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for evaluation of donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administration and supervision of approved immunizations other than blood products.
• Provides limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including medication administration as allowed by licensure.
• Promotes positive customer relations with all donors.
• Conducts confidential donor interviews to determine suitability to donate plasma.
• Responds to medically related questions from staff with Center Medical Director/Center Physician.
• Performs medical history reviews and health assessments of donors.
• Assesses donor screening and lab results for suitability.
• Notifies and counsels donors regarding reactive test results and follow-up.
• Explains informed consent to donors, including procedures, risks and immunization schedules.
• Handles medical emergencies at the Center and maintains emergency kits.
• Reviews test results and four-month approval/grace period SOPs.
• Assesses signs and symptoms that may prevent continuing donation.
• Manages hepatitis B and influenza immunization programs.
• Oversees donor immunization programs and records antibody titers as required.
• Records donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
• Maintains a clean, compliant work environment and adheres to HSE/OSHA policies.
