Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and to provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine eligibility and collaborate with the Center Medical Director on donor suitability.

You will review test results, monitor donor symptoms, and counsel donors regarding reactive results, escalating critical situations to the Center Physician or local providers

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews.
• In conjunction with the Center Medical Director, respond to medically related questions and provide information on donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical providers as required.
