Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a health professional to evaluate donor suitability for automatedpheresis, provide limited emergency care, and interview donors to gather medical histories. You will coordinate with the Center Medical Director on donor decisions and review test results to ensure continued eligibility.

You will counsel donors with reactive results and refer for follow-up while providing routine care following SOPs and escalating critical cases to the Center Physician as required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• Foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical grads must be licensed as a physician or state EMS certification.
• For NY: current licensure/certification as RN, MD or DO in the state of application or reciprocal state.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant healthcare experience.
• Experience in plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to perform and analyze physical assessment of heart and lung sounds and other signs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including medications per licensure.
• Interview donors and review medical history to determine donation suitability.
• Consult with Center Medical Director and advise staff on donor suitability.
• Review test results and assess continued donor suitability; address donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors with reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care per SOPs and escalate critical cases to Center Physician as needed.
