Job summary

CSL is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor eligibility for automated pheresis within a center in Houston. The role includes providing limited emergency care to donors and staff, interviewing donors, and reviewing medical histories to determine plasma donation suitability.

You will work with the Center Medical Director to address donor questions, review test results, and counsel on reactive findings.

Qualifications

• Graduate from paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also be licensed as a physician or state EMT.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as RN, MD or DO in the applying state.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to assess heart and lung sounds and detect signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure.
• Interview donors and review medical history to determine plasma donation suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to answer questions on donor suitability.
• Review test results and assess ongoing donor suitability; note symptoms affecting donation.
• Notify and counsel donors on reactive test results; refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care per SOPs; escalate critical situations to Center Physician or local providers.
