Job summary

CSL is seeking a qualified medical professional to evaluate donor suitability for pheresis and administer donor immunizations. You will provide emergency care, counsel donors on test results, and document all data in the electronic system.

The role requires strict adherence to SOPs, confidentiality, and potential bilingual capabilities. Responsibilities include health assessments, communicating with staff and Center Medical Director, and ensuring a safe, compliant donor center environment.

Qualifications

• Active licensure in a medical field or paramedical discipline.
• Foreign medical education with current license/EMT certification is acceptable.
• Minimum 1 year healthcare or clinical experience.
• Experience in plasma/whole blood centers preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments and interpret health indicators.
• Ability to educate donors and staff on donor programs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer and supervise approved immunizations other than RBC immunizations.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Promote positive donor relations and conduct donor interviews.
• Respond to medically related questions from staff with Center Medical Director.
• Review health assessments and donor screening results for suitability.
• Notify and counsel donors on reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Explain informed consent and donor immunization details.
• Handle emergencies and maintain emergency equipment.
• Record donor data accurately in electronic management system.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and ensure supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Active state licensure in paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, naturopathic training program or medical school

Foreign medical school completion and current license or EMT certification

Minimum 1 year health care experience or clinical training

Experience in plasma/whole blood center or regulated environment (preferred)

Ability to assess physical signs and drug use indicators

Ability to instruct donors and staff on donor programs
