Job summary

CSL is seeking a clinician to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures at a compliant center. You will interview donors, review medical histories, and determine eligibility while providing limited emergency care within licensure guidelines.

In collaboration with the Center Medical Director, you will address medically related questions, review test results, and counsel donors on follow-up if reactive results occur.

Qualifications

• Graduation from paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign medical school, must be licensed as a physician or certified as an EMT.
• For NY: current state license/certification as RN, MD or DO in the applicable state.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine suitability.
• Respond to medically related questions with the Center Medical Director.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical situations to physicians.
