Job summary

CSL Vifor in Dalton, GA is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, and perform medical history interviews to determine eligibility to donate plasma.

You will work with the Center Medical Director to answer medically related questions, review test results for continued donor suitability, and counsel donors on reactive findings with referrals for follow-up as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments under licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine eligibility to donate plasma.
• Consult with Center Medical Director on donor suitability and medically related questions.
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability and assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors for follow-up and counseling.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical providers as required.
