Job summary

CSL seeks a Donor Suitability Evaluator to assess plasma donor eligibility and provide limited emergency care. You will interview donors, review medical histories, and determine donation suitability under supervision.

In collaboration with the Center Medical Director, you will address medical questions, interpret test results, and counsel donors on reactive findings. Prior regulated environment experience is preferred and local licensure requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also be licensed as a physician or state EMT certification.
• For NY: licensed or certified RN/MD/DO in applying state or reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year relevant healthcare experience.
• Experience in plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including medication administration per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability.
• Answer medically related questions and inform staff on donor suitability with Center Medical Director.
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability and assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to physicians or local providers.
• Refer to local job documentation for local requirements as applicable.
