Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a professionally licensed clinician to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and provide limited urgent medical care at the donation center. You will interview donors, review medical histories, interpret test results, and escalate critical cases to the Center Physician as needed.

The role requires healthcare training with 1+ year experience in a clinical setting; familiarity with plasma or blood collection environments is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
  • Foreign school graduates must be licensed as a physician or hold state EMT certification where required.
  • For NY: current RN/MD/DO licensure or reciprocal state certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a health care setting.
  • Experience in a plasma or whole blood center preferred.
  • Ability to assess heart and lung sounds and detect signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
  • Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
  • Interview donors and perform medical history reviews.
  • Respond to donor questions about suitability with the Center Medical Director.
  • Review test results and monitor donor suitability.
  • Counsel donors regarding reactive test results and referrals.
  • Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical situations.
