Job summary

CSL is seeking a qualified health professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures. You will interview donors, review medical history, and assess test results to determine eligibility.

Under supervision, provide limited emergency medical care and escalate critical cases to the Center Physician as needed. Responsibilities include counseling donors with reactive results, coordinating referrals for follow-up, and ensuring SOP-adherent routine care within the donation

Qualifications

• Graduation from paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• Foreign graduates must be licensed as physician or certified EMT where applicable.
• New York applicants must hold NY licensure/certification or reciprocal state licensure.
• Minimum of one year of relevant healthcare experience.
• Experience in plasma or whole blood collection centers preferred.
• Ability to perform and interpret physical assessments (heart, lungs, signs of drug use).

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff and administer medications as permitted.
• Interview donors and review medical history to determine donation suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to address donor suitability questions.
• Review test results and determine continued donor eligibility; assess donor symptoms.
• Counsel donors on reactive results and refer to community facilities as needed.
• Adhere to SOPs for routine care and escalate critical medical situations to physicians.
