Job summary

CSL plasma donation center in Akron is seeking a medical professional responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, administering immunizations, and providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.

You will conduct confidential donor interviews, review medical histories, interpret tests, and counsel donors on reactive results, with supervision by Center Medical Director. This role emphasizes safety, documentation, and privacy compliance.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure in related medical field.
• Minimum of one year experience in a health care environment or clinical setting.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center preferred.
• Ability to assess signs and symptoms affecting donor suitability.
• Ability to instruct donors and staff on donor programs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer and supervise approved immunizations other than red blood cell immunizations.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff in accordance with licensure.
• Promote positive donor relations and conduct confidential donor interviews.
• Respond to medically related questions with Center Medical Director and staff.
• Review donor test results and determine continued suitability.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer as needed.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
• Maintain safety, SOPs, and compliance with HSE/OSHA policies.

Education

Active state licensure (paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, naturopathic, or medical school)
