Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a donor center technician to perform pheresis and plasma collection. You will set up donors, monitor the process, and disconnect after collection, ensuring efficiency and donor safety.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, vein performance evaluation, donor education, reaction monitoring, and meticulous data recording in the donor information system. A fast-paced setting with strict safety protocols is expected.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy skills to perform donor venipuncture and monitor pheresis process.
• Strong donor communication and ability to educate donors as needed.
• Adherence to SOPs, FDA guidelines, safety, and confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis procedures including donor setup, monitoring, and disconnect.
• Conduct venipuncture to start pheresis per SOPs and FDA guidelines.
• Evaluate donor vein performance and adjust process for efficiency and safety.
• Educate new donors on screening, tests, appointments, policies, and nutrition.
• Monitor donors for reactions and assist or notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents during pheresis using PDA and track alerts/alarms.
• Perform calibrations and verify maintenance per SOPs; address equipment alarms.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and document incidents; replace equipment as needed.
• Monitor donor flow on the floor to ensure continuous turnover and escalate issues.
• Collect arm samples or whole blood for testing as required.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor info system.
