Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to perform and interpret physical assessments of heart and lung sounds; assess signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication per licensure.
• Interview donors and review medical history to determine donation suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to address donor suitability questions.
• Review test results and assess donor suitability; identify symptoms that may stop donation.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care per SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local providers.

Foreign medical school graduates must be licensed as physician or state EMT
