Job summary

CSL is seeking a Plasma Donor Collection Technician to perform pheresis and plasma collection in a compliant setting. You will set up donors, monitor the process, and ensure donor safety and product quality following SOPs.

The role requires handling venipuncture, vein assessment, and educating donors on the process while maintaining donor records and equipment. This position may require CA-specific phlebotomy certification with potential cross-training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 12 months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred.
• In CA centers: state certified as Phlebotomy Technician I, or RN license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Collect plasma via venipuncture and monitor the pheresis process per SOPs.
• Set up donor, monitor, and disconnect according to SOPs.
• Perform venipuncture to initiate pheresis following FDA guidelines.
• Evaluate donor vein performance and adjust to expedite donation safely.
• Educate donors about therapeutic products, screening, and policies.
• Monitor for donor reactions and assist or notify staff as needed.
• Use PDA to record incidents during pheresis, including alarms and events.
• Calibrate and verify maintenance; respond to and resolve equipment alarms.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and document incidents.
• Monitor donor flow and report issues to supervisor.
• Collect arm samples or whole blood for testing.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor system.
• Maintain safety, confidentiality, and clean work environment; follow HSE/OSHA.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual may be required.
