Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with state-approved nursing education.
• Current RN, NP, or PA licensure or certification in the state of practice.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements.
• Perform physical examination, blood testing, and review SPE results.
• Assess donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; coordinate with Center Physician for guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and refer for further evaluation as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
