Job Description

This role: Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager and the Center Physician. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing informed consent, reviewing laboratory results, handling donor adverse events, and supporting safety programs.

Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent (AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history, physical exam, blood testing, SPE review).
  • Monitor donor reactions and handle medical emergencies following SOPs.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings requiring medical or technical guidance.
  • Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and coordinate occupational health evaluations.
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
  • Follow guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and provide center‑level EHS support.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
  • Current state license or certification: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state IV therapy requirements.
  • Complete FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years clinical or hospital experience.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly wage range: $33.44 – $45.98 (dependent on experience, credentials, location).
