Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to screen donors, conduct medical history interviews, review lab results, and ensure donor safety under the Center Manager and Center Physician.

You will respond to donor adverse events, assist with safety programs, and coordinate vaccination and occupational health tasks. This part-time role requires a nursing credential, CPR/AED, and at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical exam, blood testing, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions following SOPs and assist in emergencies including center physician standing orders and transport to care.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health/ER evaluation with EHS guidance.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility with informed consent and medical history review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer for medical guidance and safety issues to Center Physician/Medical Affairs.
• Support vaccination programs for staff.
• Manage incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
