BioLife Plasma Services is hiring a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Ypsilanti, MI. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, and manage donor safety under center physicians and Medical Affairs.

You will also support employee vaccination programs and incident investigations. The role requires nursing licensure (LPN/LVN), CPR/AED, and at least two years in a clinical setting, with FDA training specific to BioLife.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent, including nursing program requirements.
• Current LPN/LVN license or certification where responsibilities are assigned.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsabilidades

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance criteria, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies with physician standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance for donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further occupational health/ER evaluation is needed; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemics.

Educación

High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program
