Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is hiring a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support center operations in Beaumont, TX. You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, following SOPs and FDA requirements. The role requires an RN/NP/PA license, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified as RN, NP or PA in the responsible state.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview and physical examination.
• Review laboratory results and SPE; monitor donor reactions and emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER; involve EHS as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
