Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Beaumont, TX is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support donor screening, eligibility, and safety at the center level.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, coordinating donor testing review, adverse event handling, and communications of results, while ensuring compliance with plasma collection regulations and BioLife policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
• Current CPR and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, education, history interview, physical exam, and test review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate emergency transfers as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings and guidance on medical issues.
• Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu) for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with Occupational Health/EHS for further evaluation.
• May act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations.
