Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in Salisbury, MD. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, manage donor safety, and work under the Center Manager and Center Physician in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Current licensure or certification in the state: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, physical exam, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unclear findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER and EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
