Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, manage donor reactions, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician for operations and medical issues in a regulated plasma donation center.

The role emphasizes patient safety, adherence to SOPs, and collaboration with Medical Affairs and EHS. Relevant EMT/RN/LPN licensure and CPR/AED are required.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED certification required.
• Licensed in EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P or RN/LPN/LVN per state requirements.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements.
• Perform physical examinations and review serology testing (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies and transport.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance.
• Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents per EHS guidance.
