Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor eligibility, oversee adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable findings. The role reports to the Center Manager and supports EHS guidance.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Center Physician, supporting vaccination programs, and handling incident investigations in a fast-paced plasma center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with recognized nursing program requirements.
• Current state licenses (EMT/PN/RN) and CPR/AED certification.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, physical exam, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and arrange transport for emergencies.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues related to donor safety.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with EHS for investigations.
• Possibly act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
