Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Mobile, AL is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, review test results, manage donor safety, and support EHS and medical guidance within a plasma center.

The role requires relevant EMS/ nursing licensure, CPR/AED certification, and prior clinical experience. You will work under Center Manager and Center Physician guidance to ensure compliant operations and high-quality donor care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus nursing program with state requirements.
• Current licensure/certification in the practice state: EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, and RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, and physical examination.
• Review donor lab results and Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and respond per SOPs, including center physician orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu as applicable to employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER per EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations with Pandemic threats.

Skills

EMT licenses (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P)

CPR & AED certification

RN/LPN/LVN license considered
