Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Newark, DE is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to drive donor eligibility determinations, manage donor adverse events, and review SPE results. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.

You will also support vaccination initiatives and incident management in a fast-paced plasma collection environment, contributing to a high-quality donor experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to include nursing program certification with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN).
• CPR and AED certification is required.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist is required.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies following SOPs.
• Review laboratory test results and communicate unsuitable results to donors.
• Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu) for employees as applicable.
• Refer complex medical issues to Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
