Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking Associate Medical Staff to support donor care and eligibility. You will evaluate donor suitability for pheresis, provide limited emergency medical care, and interview donors to gather medical history necessary to determine eligibility to donate plasma.

The role involves reviewing test results, counseling donors on reactive findings, and escalating critical cases to physicians. Relevant healthcare experience and licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medications per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine suitability to donate plasma.
• Consult with Center Medical Director on donor suitability questions for staff.
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability and assess symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local providers as required.
