Job summary

CSL in San Antonio, TX, is seeking personnel to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will interview donors, perform medical history reviews, and assess test results to determine ongoing suitability, while counseling on reactive results and referring as needed.

The role follows SOPs and requests escalation to a Center Physician for critical medical situations, with responsibilities including collaboration

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign medical school, must be licensed or certified as EMT.
• Must hold or be eligible for required state licensure/certification.
• Minimum of one year in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or regulated center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews.
• Answer medically related questions with Center Medical Director.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer as needed.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical situations.
