Job summary

Moon Valley Nurseries in Surprise, AZ is seeking an entry-level Planting Crew member to install trees and plants for customers. You will plant trees and shrubs according to landscape plans, ensure proper spacing, and maintain a clean work area.

You'll handle loading/unloading materials, follow PPE and safety protocols, and communicate with teammates to complete projects on time. The role requires manual labor and outdoor work, with teamwork and reliability as key assets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous landscaping, horticulture experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with operating power tools and equipment preferred.
• Ability to follow specific instructions and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Plant trees, shrubs, and other plants according to landscape plans and specifications.
• Ensure proper fertilization and planting techniques to promote healthy growth and longevity of plants.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and complete projects on time.
• Assist with loading and unloading plants, tools, equipment and any other equipment needed for the day's tasks, ensuring accurate counts and proper weight distribution.
• Ensure the proper use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and any other necessary protective gear to maintain personal safety.
• Understand and recognize the significance of Blue Stake/811 colors at job sites to prevent damage to underground utilities and adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
• Demonstrated availability to work any day of the week.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.
