Job summary

Slate Auto LLC is seeking a hands-on Plant Vehicle Engineer, General Assembly to support launch readiness, production quality, and continuous improvement in General Assembly, focusing on the base truck. The role links plant operations with Design & Release Engineering and Quality to protect product intent and resolve issues on the shop floor.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in automotive engineering or manufacturing, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong skills in BOMs, change

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field is preferred.
5+ years of automotive engineering, manufacturing engineering, or launch experience.
Experience with General Assembly build execution and vehicle integration is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support General Assembly launch readiness, production quality, and continuous improvement.
Serve as the engineering link between plant, Design & Release, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and cross-functional teams.
Identify build and integration issues, support root cause analysis, and drive plant-side issue resolution.
Support engineering change implementation, prototype/pilot builds, and PFMEA/control plan reviews.
Drive continuous improvement to reduce defects and improve first-time quality.
