Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials is seeking an entry-level Utility Person in Irwindale, CA to support plant operations and maintenance. You will assist with material handling, housekeeping, and equipment support to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Under supervision, you will operate and assist with skid steers, backhoes, pavers and rollers, perform routine preventive maintenance, and help troubleshoot issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience.
• 3+ years of prior experience in the Aggregate Industry preferred.
• Experience in Plant Operations and Maintenance is a plus.
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate production and plant mobile equipment safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions using standard operating procedures.
• Participate in production, loading, and shipping.
• Under supervision, adjust equipment to maximize production.
• Assist in basic cutting and welding under supervision.
• Use hand tools to remove spilled material and maintain clean work areas.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and maintain maintenance logs.
• Provide operational support across departments and flexibly take on other tasks.
