Job summary

POET is seeking a Plant Technician for our Chancellor, SD facility. The role covers operation and maintenance of automated plant equipment, with 12‑hour shifts (days and nights) and call‑in requirements as needed.

Responsibilities include operating the DCS, troubleshooting, documentation, QA/QC sampling, and contributing to sanitation and safety programs. A high school diploma is required, with production experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a production environment preferred for Plant Technician I–III roles.
• Working knowledge in math, reading comprehension and mechanical reasoning required.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with software systems, such as Maximo, preferred.
• Able to use MS Office and learn new programs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all plant processing equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and document activities.
• Operate the DCS for the plant.
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Follow SOPs for start‑up, shut‑down, cleaning and batching.
• Maintain accurate process logs and QA/QC data entries.
