Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Manager, Occupational Safety to lead the global safety program, oversee hazard prevention, audits, training and risk mitigation across plant sites. You will interpret policies, manage Safety Operating System (SOS), and collaborate with Health & Safety leadership to ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include KPI development, incident analysis, inspections, investigations, and staff development. Travel up to 10% and occasional weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
• 5+ years of work experience in Occupational Safety or related field.
• 5+ years of supervisory/leadership experience.
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
• 1+ years working in a union environment.
• Flexible schedule including weekends (occasionally).
• 10% travel required.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and administers company policies and conducts programs related to risk assessment, hazard identification, incident investigations, inspections, audits, safety culture and engagement to prevent accidents and hazards at the workplace.
• Manages plant and facility-wide safety processes and initiatives including the Safety Operating System (SOS), emergency response planning and training, with timely execution and compliance.
• Distributes and assigns tasks to the regional and facility Occupational Safety team and guides on accident prevention plans and related processes and standards.
• Ensures personnel have current safety training, drug tests, and other required training before site arrival.
• Develops and monitors KPIs for safety incidents, injury statistics, corrective actions, training hours, and resolution times.
