Job summary

PPG is seeking a Plant Reliability Engineer to ensure continuous, efficient, and safe operation of plant equipment in Cleveland. You will develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life, while leading RCA investigations and training teams.

Responsibilities include monitoring MTBF/MTTR, supporting capital projects, and driving improvements via RCM, FMEA, and Six Sigma to maximize asset availability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3–7 years of experience in a manufacturing or process plant environment.
• Proficiency in CMMS, vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication management, and other predictive maintenance tools.
• CRE or CMRP certifications preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
• Lead investigations into equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and prioritize maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to schedule and optimize maintenance activities.
• Drive reliability improvement initiatives using RCM, FMEA, and Six Sigma.
• Provide reliability input during the design and commissioning of new equipment or plant modifications.
• Monitor key reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and equipment availability.
• Support and train maintenance technicians and operators on reliability best practices.
