Job summary

Voltava is seeking a Plant Quality Engineer to support quality activities and provide leadership at the plant level. You will train team members in quality methods and tools, and help drive improvement initiatives across the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities include leading investigations into quality concerns with cross-functional teams, validating containment, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining quality documentation for customer approvals and audits.

Qualifications

• Subject matter expert in Quality Tools (8D, 5 Why, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC).
• Lead cross functional teams in problem solving.
• Professional communication with internal and external customers.
• Driven professional with a passion to improve systems and processes.
• Strong knowledge of PFMEA and Control Plans.
• Understanding of IATF 16949 requirements.
• Demonstrated success solving manufacturing problems.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge.
• Understanding of Quality Systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• High interpersonal skills with all team members.
• Strong Windows, Word and Excel skills.
• Sense of urgency and customer satisfaction focus.

Responsibilities

• Support the manufacturing floor.
• Lead investigations into quality concerns with cross functional team and validate containment in place as required.
• Ensure corrective actions are implemented and validated for effectiveness.
• Verify appropriate document is updated.
• Maintain quality documentation and obtain customer approval when required.
• Conduct MSA and validate error proofing on the manufacturing floor is operational.
• Oversee APQP verification to floor activities and identify new risks.
• Lead short-term quality initiatives to improve KPIs.
• Complete Plant Floor Audits.
• Analyze data and implement cross-functional improvements.
• Communicate with customers on quality concerns and corrective actions.
• Support engineering change processes and launches.
• Create and validate quality documentation before production launches.
