Job summary

USG seeks a Project Engineer for an entry-level, hands-on training role in a plant environment with immediate responsibility for troubleshooting and implementing capital projects to modernize facilities and equipment.

The position offers broad manufacturing exposure and potential movement into plant department management, staff engineering, production engineering, or technical service roles, with relocation to other sites as growth occurs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial and/or Engineering Management.
• 1–2 years related experience in a manufacturing environment desirable.
• Applicants must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Minimum GPA of 2.75 required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in monitoring and executing the plant safety program.
• Prepares and follows to completion all assigned capital authorities and job sheet requests; trains external contractors on plant safety procedures; supervises external contractors on completion of work.
• Utilizes technical training to advise and design engineering solutions for reliability and operating departments.
• Assists department managers with facility preparation and planning to support daily operations.
• Works with project engineers and plant personnel to administer plant policies and support maintenance and operating departments in planning and implementing major expenditures.
