Job summary

USG’s Project Engineer position is an entry-level assignment in a plant environment with immediate responsibility, including troubleshooting and implementing capital expenditures for new or modernized facilities and equipment.

The role may involve supervisory responsibilities and offers broad manufacturing exposure for future positions such as plant department managers and senior engineers across 40+ locations. Growth opportunities may require relocation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or Engineering Management.
• 1–2 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Applicants must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and execution of the plant safety program.
• Prepares and follows to completion all assigned capital authorities and job sheet requests; trains external contractors on safety procedures.
• Utilizes technical training to advise and design engineering solutions for reliability and operations.
• Assists department managers with facility preparation and planning for daily operations.
• Works with project engineers and plant personnel to administer policies and support maintenance and operating departments in planning expenditures.
