Job summary

Crown Holdings, Inc. seeks a seasoned Master Scheduler in Nichols, NY to develop master schedule requirements from demand forecasts, coordinate capacity, and manage inventories. Qualifications

• BS degree in business, logistics, management or related area.
• 5+ years of experience in production planning/logistics/materials handling.
• APICS CPSM Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing certificates are highly desired.
• AS400 knowledge is a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing, operational, and customer-driven environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access and Word.
• Ability to develop processes, train end users, and implement projects to completion.
• Capable of managing changing business needs and requirements.
• Proven critical thinking and initiative to drive improvements.
• Effective oral and written communications.
• Demonstrated project management, time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing Master Schedule requirements from demand forecast, plant capacity, and historical data.
• Interact with production and sales personnel to update and advise of progress and new developments.
• Manage volume and manufacturing location changes between factories to meet customer requirements.
• Monitor inventories of raw material, work in process, and finished goods to minimize costs.
• Oversee development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capability.
• Train and audit plant personnel for compliance in department standards and practices.
• Assure proper use of the system through on-site auditing and clear tracking metrics.
• Maintain accurate needs attention and obsolete inventory and implement improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement through training, tool development, and strategic planning.
