Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; wastewater focus preferred.
  • Four years of related experience or two years in a treatment plant.
  • Valid Texas driver's license; PE licensure required.
  • Ability to obtain water or wastewater license within 2 years.
  • Knowledge of CMMS, AutoCAD, ArcGIS; HMI and process controls preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to make decisions with limited direction.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during emergencies.
  • Understanding of plant operations and asset management.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and audits systems to ensure asset maintenance data is collected and facilitates corrective actions.
  • Designs modifications to existing systems and develops specifications for equipment purchases; assists long-range planning for facilities development.
  • Maintains site CAD files and prepares machine drawings using AutoCAD; collects GPS data and maintains GIS records.
  • Coordinates activities and capital projects among departments, staff, and consultants; ensures timely, technically based input and maintains records.
  • Assists with plans and specs for equipment and controls expansion; contributes to PCS guidelines and maintains project records.
  • Maintains levee and documents protection and integrity activities.
  • May assist with data collection for process models/schematics for Plant or pipelines.
  • Monitors legislation, UCMR and other rules impacting water treatment.
