Job summary

Smart Sand Blair is seeking an experienced Plant Operator for our Blair facility. The role involves operating processing equipment, supervising grounds crew, and maintaining quality and safety standards on a 12-hour shift with night differential.

You will direct material flow, monitor instrumentation, and work under the Production Supervisor while collaborating with leaders across the site. MSHA training and prior plant operator experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• MSHA training and experience are required.
• Knowledge and skill to operate basic heavy equipment pieces.
• Prior experience as a Plant Operator in both Wet and Dry plants.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates processing instructions to Grounds Crew to install, maintain, or repair hoses, pumps, filters, or screens and to maintain processing equipment.
• Monitors material flow or instruments to ensure optimal processing conditions.
• Sets up or adjusts machine controls to regulate conditions.
• Trains the QA program and tests processes as required by the Quality Management System.
• Examines samples visually or by hand to verify quality.
• Operate small and heavy equipment including skid steers, telehandlers, man lifts, haul trucks, and loaders.
• Maintains logs of instrument readings and shifts production; saves data in a computer database.
• Uses handheld radios to coordinate tasks and resources.
• Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment.
