Capital Power’s Midland Cogeneration Venture in Midland, MI is seeking a Plant Operator to join our team. The role focuses on safe, efficient operation of the gas-fired cogeneration facility and routine maintenance of equipment.

Reporting to the Operations Shift Supervisor, you will follow plant procedures, maintain logs, perform valve lineups and switching, and help with preventive maintenance and safety-related tasks. This is a safety-sensitive, 12-hour rotating shift position.

Formación

• 3-5 years’ experience in generating plant operations (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor equipment in the power block and balance-of-plant areas to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Maintain and review logs and records of plant operational activities.
• Perform valve lineups to support routine plant operations.
• Perform plant switching and tagging to ensure safe maintenance activities.
• Periodically clean and inspect plant areas and equipment.
• Operate electrical breakers and switchyard equipment safely.
• Assist with preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, and GTG-related tasks.
• Monitor equipment in the Control Room under supervision.
• Assist with minor re-lamping and equipment labeling as needed.
• Review operating procedures and participate in training to meet requirements.

Conocimientos

Plant operations experience

Valid driver’s license

Educación

High School Diploma or related Power Generation education
