Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Supv Operations to lead day-to-day unit operations at a generating station. You will oversee generation, scrubber and environmental controls, plus material handling and routine maintenance.

You will commit to plans, supervise execution, and ensure safety, quality and compliance. You will also guide employee development, manage performance, and address operational barriers while communicating direction across teams.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with 3+ years related work experience
• High school diploma or GED with 7+ years related work experience
• 3 years of supervisor experience (preferred)
• 5-7 years of plant operations experience (preferred)
• Strong computer skills and ability to use various applications
• Effective oral and written communication
• Knowledge of generating station systems, equipment and processes
• Financial knowledge and data analysis abilities

Responsibilities

• Execute work needed to manage unit operations, including unit generation, scrubber, environmental controls, and material handling; some routine maintenance of the station
• Commit to work plans, execute plans and schedules, and provide oversight to the work
• Oversee employee development and performance management of the assigned personnel
• Identify and address barriers in the workplace and communicate plans and direction of the organization
• Often act as senior on site, especially at night and on weekends
